Parking Information for the GSE&IS Building

Information for finding all day parking, disabled parking, and short-term parking.

As part of the 405 / San Diego freeway widening project, the southbound 405 off-ramps at Sunset Boulevard will be closed October 15-29, 2011. And in November 2011, Wilshire Boulevard off and on-ramps will closed at times. More information on the closures.

If driving to the GSE&IS Building and you need all day parking

Note: If you have staff or faculty parking pass from another UC campus, you should be able to obtain a reciprocal free daily parking pass for UCLA. Show your home campus pass to the clerk at the information booth.

Daily parking permits cost $11.00

Disabled parking permits cost $4.00

Free motorcycle and scooter parking on campus

Westwood / Sunset Information Booth - in Lot 4

Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:00pm

Friday, 7:00am-Noon

Saturday, 8:00am-1:00pm

  • Drive east on Sunset Boulevard
  • Turn right onto Westwood Plaza and follow the road underground into Lot 4
  • Information booth is on the left
  • Purchase parking for Lot 3 or 5

Westholme / Hilgard Information Booth

Monday-Friday, 6:30am-7:30pm

Saturday and Sunday, Closed

 

 

  • Drive east on Sunset Boulevard
  • Turn right on Hilgard Avenue
  • Turn right onto campus at Westholme Avenue
  • Information booth is on the right
  • Purchase parking for Lot 3 or 5

Parking Lot Information

Lot 3 - a five minute walk to the GSE&IS Building

 

  • After purchasing the permit, ask for directions to Lot 3
  • Park in the southern section of the lot furthest from Sunset Boiulevard
  • DO NOT park in any spaces marked for Blue or X permits, or in spaces marked by green lines with individual space numbers. You can park in spots marked for Yellow permits.
  • The elevator in Lot 3 along the southern wall services levels 1-4
  • Consult the local area map to walk to the GSE&IS Building

Lot 5 - across the road from the GSE&IS Building

 

  • After purchasing the permit, ask for directions to Lot 5
  • Park on levels 1, 2, 3, or 6 in Lot 5 - you need to exit and re-enter the garage to access each level.
  • DO NOT park in any spaces marked for Blue or X permits, or in spaces marked by green lines with individual space numbers. You can park in spots marked for Yellow permits.
  • There are no elevators in Lot 5
  • Consult the local area map to walk to the GSE&IS Building

Disabled logoIf coming to the GSE&IS Building, and you need a disabled parking space, follow these steps:

  • After purchasing the permit, ask for directions to the GSE&IS Building
  • Drive to the GSE&IS Building - you approach the building from the rear - Building photo
  • There are two disabled parking spaces in front of the building, one of which is by a wall at the south end of the black top by the North Campus Student Center.
  • There is also a space on the western side of the building.
  • If none of these spaces is available, you should go to the top level (Level 6) of Lot 5, across the road from the GSE&IS Building, and park in a disabled space, if available. If no disabled spaces are free, park in any other space as long as it is not a space marked by green lines with individual space numbers.

Note: Display your disabled parking placard and DO NOT park on other levels of Lot 5 as there is no elevator to bring you to the top level.

If driving to the GSE&IS Building and you need parking for a short period

Pay-by-Space - Short Term Parking Option

Cost is $3 / hour. Beyond 2 hours 40 minutes, cost is $11

Disabled parking permits cost $4.00

Pay by credit card or cash (no change)

Free motorcycle and scooter parking on campus

Lot 3 - a five minute walk to the GSE&IS Building

Pay-by-space parking is only accessible from the northeast entrance to Lot 5

 

  • Driving east on Sunset Boulevard, turn right onto Hilgard Avenue
  • Turn right onto campus at your first opportunity
  • Turn right into Lot 3 and turn right again once in the lot looking for open spaces
  • Park in any space marked by green lines and individual space numbers
  • After purchasing the permit, place it on the driver's side of the dashboard
  • Consult the local area map to walk to the GSE&IS Building

Lot 5 - across the road from the GSE&IS Building - Pay-by-space parking is limited to level 6 in Lot 5

 

  • Driving east on Sunset Boulevard, turn right onto Royce Drive
  • After the stop sign, turn right onto level 6 of Lot 5 and look for open spaces
  • Park in any space marked by green lines and individual space numbers
  • After purchasing the permit, place it on the driver's side of the dashboard
  • Consult the local area map to walk to the GSE&IS Building
