Information about the various IS degree programs.

Undergraduate Program

The Undergraduate Program offers a number of courses that provide undergraduate students with a blend of conceptual and theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on laboratory experiences.

Courses

Current and past course listings, including the IS course catalog. Includes access to Moodle, the course management system used by GSE&IS.

Internship Program

IS operates a dynamic and progressive internship program. This program provides students enrolled in the MLIS or PhD degree programs with a wide range of opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills in a structured professional environment under the supervision, guidance and mentoring of current practitioners in the information profession.

Continuing Education

IS provides continuing education through its Friday Forums. Information about other continuing education opportunities is included.

Centers at Information Studies

IS-supported centers focusing on research and outreach, including the California Center for the Book and the Center for Information as Evidence.

Special Programs

A number of special programs are hosted and supported by IS, including the California Rare Book School, the Senior Fellows, and the Internet Public Library. Information about past programs is also available.

Colloquia Series

The IS Colloquia series brings an array of speakers focusing on diverse research questions.

Annual Lectures

Annual IS-sponsored lecture series include the Frances Clarke Sayer Lecture and the Samuel Lazerow Lecture.
