Annual LecturesIn addititon to the dynamic programming hosted by IS, there are annual lecture series. Samuel Lazerow Memorial LectureThe distinguished Samuel Lazerow Lecture is an annual event at the UCLA Department of Information Studies. It is sponsored by Thomson ISI's Corporate Awards Program http://www.isinet.com/. The Lecture Series was established in 1983 by ISI, publisher of the Citation Index for the Sciences, Social Sciences, and Arts and Humanities, to honor the memory of Samuel Lazerow, who was an outstanding librarian, administrator, and pioneer in library automation. Frances Clarke Sayers Lecture SeriesThis lecture series honors Frances Clarke Sayers (1897-1989), distinguished children’s librarian, inspiring master teacher, author, storyteller, and member of the UCLA Department of Library and Information Science faculty from 1960-1989. |
