Conference of Graduate Archival Educators and Researchers

The conference sought to initiate the development of an achieveable agenda for implementing graduate archival education programs that address not only existing professional needs and goals, but also take advantage of increasing opportunities to build and integrate archival skills, theory, and outlook into research and education in digital multimedia, computer networking, and electronic record-keeping.

Mephistos

(Hosted by IS in 1997) The annual Mephistos conference is a forum for graduate students working in the field of science studies, which encompasses the history, philosophy and sociology of science, technology and medicine.

Museums, Libraries, and Archives: Summer Institute for Knowledge Sharing

Held at UCLA and the Getty Center for a number of summers, this institute was designed to provide both theories and practical applications in cultural heritage information management and knowledge sharing. The course was aimed at professionals in museums, libraries and archives, and emphasized team approaches to work across departmental and institutional boundaries.

Social Aspects of Digital Libraries

This workshop brought together scholars, researchers, and practitioners from the emerging community concerned with social aspects of digital libraries. The goals were to assess existing knowledge that might inform research in this area and to propose a research agenda that would pose new questions.
