Alexandria Digital Earth ProtoType (ADEPT) / Alexandria Digital Library (ADL)
The central goal of the Alexandria Digital Earth ProtoType project was to make geo-spatial information resources intended for research purposes usable for teaching and learning at the undergraduate level. The Alexandria Digital Library (ADL), constructed as part of the (U.S.) Digital Libraries Initiative Phase I (1994-1998), provides access to geo-spatial resources in many media via sophisticated searching mechanisms (Hill & Janee, 2004).
