Kodak Camera:
1. Turn camera on using the power switch on the back. If the power is low, the camera will flash a low battery signal. You may plug the camera in or see lab staff for charged batteries.
2. Turn the mode dial (below the power lever) all the way to the left, until the indicator rests on the dual arrows.
3. Open the panel on the right of the camera (as the lens faces you) and insert the USB cable to the camera. Insert the other end of the USB cable into one of the USB slots on the front of the lab workstation.
4. The computer will alert you that it has found new hardware. Wait patiently, and a Kodak dialog box will pop up. Select Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard and click OK.

5. The Scanner and Camera wizard dialog box will appear. Click NEXT. Select all of the desired pictures to download by checking the check box in the upper right-hand corner of each photo. Once you have selected all desired pictures, click NEXT.

6. Give your group of pictures a name, and then click BROWSE to find your Z: drive in the Choose a place to save this group of pictures drop-down box. Select an existing folder within your Z: drive, or create a new folder in which to save your photos.
7. Check the box next to Delete pictures from my device after copying them. This will clear the camera for the next user. Then click NEXT.

8. Your pictures will copy to your Z: drive, and then a final dialogue box will appear. Select Nothing. I'm finished working with these pictures and click NEXT and then FINISH.

9. You will find your pictures in your Z: folder.

10. To safely remove the USB cord, find the green arrow image on the toolbar on the bottom right of your screen. Double-click on the green arrow.

11. In the Safely Remove Hardware dialog box, select the USB Mass Storage Device to highlight it, and click STOP.
12. Click OK in the final dialog box. It is now safe to remove your USB key from the slot or cable.

Nikon Camera:
1. Turn camera on using the power switch on the top. If the power is low, the camera will flash a low battery signal. See lab staff for charged batteries.
2. Open the panel on the right of the camera (as the lens faces you) and insert the USB cable to the camera. Insert the other end of the USB cable into one of the USB slots on the front of the lab workstation.
3. The computer will alert you that it has found new hardware. Wait patiently, and an F: drive removable disk dialog box will pop up. Select Copy pictures to a folder on my computer and click OK.

4. The Scanner and Camera wizard dialog box will appear. Click NEXT. Select all of the desired pictures to download by checking the check box in the upper right-hand corner of each photo. Once you have selected all desired pictures, click NEXT.

5. Give your pictures a name, and then click BROWSE to find your Z: drive in the Choose a place to save this group of pictures drop-down box. Select a preexisting folder within your Z: drive or create a new folder in which to save your photos.
6. Check the box next to Delete pictures from my device after copying them. This will clear the camera for the next user. Then click NEXT.

7. Your pictures will copy to your Z: drive, and then a final dialogue box will appear. Select Nothing. I'm finished working with these pictures and click NEXT and then FINISH.

8. You will find your pictures in your Z: folder.
