1. To make any type of document (Word, PDF, Excel, PowerPoint files, images, etc) available on the web, first save the document on a lab computer to your HTML folder, located inside your Z: drive.
2, Take note of your file name and type, for example "mypaper.doc" "mypowerpoint.ppt" "mynewsletter.pdf" or "myimage.gif." It is best not to put spaces in your filename; use _ instead.
3.Once saved in your Z:\HTML folder, your document will be available on the web at: http://polaris.gseis.ucla.edu/your_ username/your_file.extension. For example, http://polaris.gseis.ucla.edu/asmith/mypaper.doc
