Director: Professor Beverly P. Lynch
The Fellows program is directed by Professor Beverly P. Lynch. Dr. Lynch's expertise includes the study of complex organizations and academic libraries as organizations, measurement and evaluation of libraries, and public policy. She was a Senior Fellow in the program's first class and has directed the UCLA program since 1990, having joined the UCLA faculty as Dean of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science in 1989.
Dr. Lynch has been President of the Center for Research Libraries, University Librarian and Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Executive Director of the Association of College and Research Libraries, and has worked as a librarian and administrator in the libraries of Yale University, Marquette University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
Dr. Lynch has published six books and over 100 papers. She has lectured widely in the U.S. and abroad, with
important work on the measurement and evaluation of libraries carried out England , India, China, and Cyprus . She has been an officer in the International Federation of Libraries and Institutions (IFLA).
Long active in professional associations, Dr. Lynch has been President of the American Library Association (ALA) and has chaired ALA 's committees on Accreditation and International Relations, among many others . She is immediate past chair of the National Information Standards Organization's Board of Directors.
