Message from Amy Gershon, March 17, 2020. Updated 3/18/20 below.
Dear GSE&IS Students,
We understand that the COVID-19 situation may have impacted you in unanticipated ways.
GSE&IS has made available some limited funding on a reimbursement basis for those who have had such unexpected expenses starting March 11, 2020. This is the day UCLA went to remote instruction.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Lastly, while you may scan in receipts for the application, we will need original receipts mailed to the Business Office for those choosing the check option to be mailed to you. Please ensure receipts fall between March 11-March 31, 2020.
Take good care,
UPDATE 3/18/20:
Dear GSE&IS students,

A few notes of clarification:
1. The intent of this grant is to aid enrolled students in both Winter and Spring 2020 with their own remote learning needs (versus something you may need for your employment). Priority will be given to those scenarios as funds are limited.
2. The school is in the process of requesting computers from UCLA.  A survey was sent asking students about their technology needs. Please complete this if you haven’t done so already or if this missed your email on the first go-around so that we know how many laptops we may need from central campus:
3. Computers may be checked out at the Library prior to tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. per the email sent yesterday. As long as you show your UCLA BruinCard, you can get access to YRL, Powell or Biomed libraries. With the availability of this resource from the campus, this emergency funding may not be used to reimburse computer hardware purchases.  Purchases of software or software licenses needed to participate in certain lab classes will be reimbursed.
Please also provide an explanation with the application and receipt(s) for your request for reimbursement.
As always, please do contact me for any questions or concerns you may have.
Be well,
